CaseTrust is the accreditation arm of the Consumers Association of Singapore (CASE). We are the de facto standard for companies who wish to demonstrate their commitment to fair trading and transparency to consumers. Since 1999, we have worked hand-in-hand with many companies to raise industry standards. Today, there are eight accreditation schemes tailored to the needs of different industries.
A business that displays the CaseTrust logo signifies its fair and honest trading practices as CaseTrust have been highly regarded by industry players since its inception. This is because CaseTrust’s standards have been maintained in an unbiased manner, while the accreditation has kept abreast with consumer trends and industry developments. Members of the CaseTrust Advisory Council are all CASE volunteers and are professionals of their respective fields.
CaseTrust continues to push for greater consumer protection through the elevation of industry standards by promoting of fair and ethical business practices.
CaseTrust was formed as a Secretariat under the initiative of the Consumers Association of Singapore (CASE) with the aim of providing accreditation to businesses who want to signify their fair and honest trading practices to the consumers.
CaseTrust Gold is the premier tier of the CaseTrust accreditation schemes. Recipients of CaseTrust Gold are businesses with the added edge that distinguishes them as industry leaders. It promises the highest standards of consumer confidence in service quality, dynamism and innovation.
As home renovations are one of the biggest investments a homeowner will make, the CaseTrust accreditation for renovation businesses was created. Measures in the scheme include a deposit performance bond to safeguard against closure and liquidation and the adoption of the CaseTrust Standard Renovation Contract to ensure cost transparency and accountability.
CaseTrust-SVTA accredited companies have passed stringent assessment and would have clear fee policies, well-defined business practices and systems and well-trained personnel. The accreditation was also created with criteria unique to the industry to raise the professionalism of car dealers.
In light of rising customer complaints over sudden business closures and pressure sales tactics, the scheme ensures that the spa and wellness business with the CaseTrust logo has fair business practices. The CaseTrust mark is compulsory for spas to be issued the Category I License by the Police Licensing & Regulation Department.
Created in partnership with the Direct Selling Association of Singapore (DSAS), the accreditation helps to combat complaints against direct sellers. Consumers now get greater protection, such as a seven-day cooling-off period when shopping with direct sellers.
This joint accreditation with the Singapore Jewellers Association (SJA) came after tests and surveys on gold uncovered incidents of unfair practices. The standard now works to voluntarily uplift standards and business practices in the industry.
Together with the Singapore Renovation Contractors and Material Suppliers Association (RCMA), this joint accreditation admits renovation businesses that have met the assessment standards. These standards are: having clear fee policies, well-defined business practices and systems and well-trained personnel.
E-Businesses who are accredited have implemented mechanisms to ensure the security of payment transactions and are committed to being honest and transparent in their communication of prices, delivery/shipping charges, and other additional fees.
