CASE to accredit 500 Renovation Contractors with up to 80 per cent in Subsidies

On 15th March 2025, CASE announced a new initiative to strengthen consumer protection in the renovation industry, CASE will offer time-limited subsidies of up to 80% to assist renovation businesses in obtaining CaseTrust accreditation, reinforcing industry standards and promoting responsible business practices.

Effective Safeguards against Common Renovation Woes

Earlier this year, CASE observed a concerning trend where prepayment losses had quadrupled, primarily stemming from complaints lodged against renovation contractors. This alarming increase highlighted the need for enhanced consumer safeguards within the renovation sector. By getting more contractors to obtain CaseTrust Accreditation, this initiative will enhance consumer protection as accredited contractors will comply with CaseTrust requirements like deposits protection and adopt the CaseTrust Standard Renovation Contract.

Subsidy Details

Renovation businesses can now receive up to 80% subsidies (up to *$5,280) on CaseTrust application fees and consultancy fees, upon successful accreditation. The subsidies aim to help renovation businesses defray accreditation cost.

• CaseTrust Silver Tier: Up to 80% subsidy on accreditation fees in the first year of accreditation.
• CaseTrust Bronze Tier: 50% subsidy on accreditation fees for up to 10 renovation businesses on a first come first served basis for the first year of accreditation.
• Consultancy Services (if any): Up to 80% of consultancy fee, capped at $1,200.
