Job Description:

You will support CASE in its consumer education and engagement efforts to raise general consumer rights awareness in Singapore. You will also provide support for special projects in regard to product safety and testing.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Editorial
  • Facilitate the production process of CASE’s in-house publications (including The Consumer magazine and CASE’s Annual Report) from conceptualisation to print in accordance with overall strategic direction/focus
  • Liaise with internal/external stakeholders to seek editorial contributions and ensure that contributions are appropriate for publication
  • Work with vendors in design and layout
  • Ensure publications are distributed and circulated to subscribers/members within timeline

Outreach and Engagement

  • Liaise with vendors on marketing and outreach campaigns and facilitate the process from conceptualisation to production
  • Provide support for CASE’s outreach activities (such as talks, exhibitions and roadshows)
  • Track impact of outreach efforts through surveys conducted at CASE’s activities

Product Safety and Testing Projects

  • Monitor local and regional news for general consumer product safety issues
  • Recommend and draft scope of product testing projects, including liaising with government agencies on standards and regulations, and liaising with testing houses on methodologies and test results
  • Facilitate the stages of testing projects, including purchasing samples and sending them to the testing houses, analysing the test results, and drafting the report
  • Where necessary, in the event of breach, undertake follow-up actions to ensure questionable products are removed from the market

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or related
  • Excellent strong command of written and spoken English, and a second language
  • Preferably at least 1 years of working or prior internship experience in a corporate communication, journalism or marketing role
  • Interest in general product safety
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines with confidence
